Ready to make and receive telephone calls using String? In this article, we'll give you an overview of the various call settings so your call and voice settings are ready to go when you need them.
To access your call settings
- Login to your String account
- Click on the phone number you want to use in the left sidebar menu.
- Click on Voice Settings
Here you will be presented with a series of options. Let's review them.
When I place a call (Outbound calls)
- VoIP
- Place outbound calls through your String account or mobile application using either your wifi or cellular data connection.
- This is an excellent option, especially when cellular coverage is spotty or altogether unavailable.
- Callback mode
- When selected, you can enter a 10-digit US phone number like your cell phone number.
- When you place a call in your String account or using the mobile application, String will first place a call to that number and then connect you with the party you are trying to reach.
- The recipient will see your String number and not your personal cell number or the number you selected.
- This is an excellent option when cellular service is strong but wifi is slow or unavailable. You may always want to use this option if working from a mobile device where you don't have unlimited data. (Yes, we realize most of you have unlimited data so this isn't a concern.)
