If you'd like to use String for Messaging (SMS/Texting) but keep your voice service with another provider, we can help. This service is called Hosted Messaging and there are cases where customers can leverage the benefits of String for messaging while using their current carrier for calling. I
n general, this does not work with mobile or wireless carriers but should work with many wireline or landline carriers.
If you are interested in hosted messaging here's how to proceed:
- Login to your String account?
- Click on Add New Inbox
- Select Hosted messaging
From there, we will check availability to configure hosted messaging then have you complete a letter of authorization. We will then initiate a hosted messaging import with our number carrier. Once complete we make the number available for use on your String account.
Please note that String voice features won't work for your number when using hosted messaging.
