Tags and lists are both useful ways to organize your String inbox and use the various features we have to offer. They do have some similarities but also some significant differences in their use. Let's first define each of these terms in the String universe:
- Tags - These are labels you can add to contacts, making it easy to filter your inbox to find conversations with contacts that have a specific tag. You can also import tags from other platforms when you import your contacts into String. Learn more about applying tags to a contact.
- Lists - These are a means by which you can organize your conversations. Similar to tags, you can also filter your contacts by list. Away Messages, Missed Call Responses, and Keyword Responses can all be configured to send to lists but not tags. Learn more about organizing your conversations into lists.
