From individual or personal texts to group or mass messaging, String has you covered!
It's easy to send and receive text (SMS) messages from your String account or the String mobile app.
Once you've logged in, click on the appropriate phone number you want to send from (if you have multiple numbers) in your left sidebar menu.
Then, simply click on the black Conversations button at the top center of your screen, or the black "Start a conversation" button at the center right. Enter a contact name or phone number. You will have the option to either send a message or place a call. Add additional contacts to create a group message. And just like that, you're ready to send a message!
Let's review a few different messaging use cases:
Sending to a Single Contact

Note: You can edit your contact list from the mass text page. Start a mass message with as little as 2 numbers/contacts and add as many as you want before you send.
What do the buttons mean when sending a message?
You will see a few buttons when composing your message. Here's a quick guide:
Attach files like pictures and videos.
Apply a template to your message.
Add your favorite emojis to your message. LOL
Insert first name personalization fields.* |
*Pro Tip: When composing or auto-responding to mass messages, you can easily personalize your message by using the "Insert First Name Variable" tool as shown below. This will add the name of any saved contacts to your message! How cool is that?! 😎
Note: The "Insert First Name Variable" tool only applies to mass messages and automatic responses.
