Have you ever had to send the same text over and over again? It gets old really fast! With Templates, write that message once and save it for another day.
This is a great tool for weekly reminders, sending out updates to customers, or simply sending the same message to multiple people outside of a group chat.
Create a New Template:
- Login to your String account
- Click on the phone number that you want to send from in the left sidebar menu.
- Click on the Templates section.
- Click the icon on the bottom right corner of your screen to create a new template.
- Edit the Title of the Template
- Add a message in text box
- Click Done
Your template is now saved and can be used again at any time when sending a message.
Note: Templates can not be used with mass messages.
What is the "first name merge tag"?
When creating the template you will see a icon at the bottom of the message field. This gives you the option to add a first name merge tag. When you add this to your template, our system will grab the first name of the message recipient from your contacts for the telephone number you are sending the message to.
Send a message with a template:
- Login to your String account
- Click the phone number in the left sidebar menu that you want to send the message from.
- Click the black icon at the bottom right corner of the screen
- Enter the phone number or contact name you wish to contact
- Select: Send Message or Group Chat
- Select the Insert Template icon to the right of the text box
- Choose the template you want to use, or use the to quickly find a specific template.
- You can edit the message as needed.
- Press enter/return to send the message. There's no actual send button.
